Whether you have been to Portugal before or it is your first time, be sure to join Out the Gate Travel or a fun-filled 11-day trip to Porto and Lisbon! Please see the itinerary below. The trip includes the flight into Porto, 4/5-star hotels, a 3-hour sunset cruise with open bar in Lisbon, , free breakfast, the Lisbon card, wine tastings, and a whole lot of fun! SuncéBeat Festival tickets, which include the after party, are available at an additional cost. Total cost of this 11-day trip starts at $3945 per person for double occupancy, single occupancy starts at $5165. This is a trip for persons 18 and over only. Trip insurance is not included, but we offer it at a low price.
Call or fill out the contact form to get exact quote from your city of origin, for questions, to make a payment, or to start a payment plan. Space is limited. A $1500 deposit is due by January 15 that will be applied to your trip total. If you miss the January 15 deposit deadline, please reach out to discuss payment options. There is no research/admin fee for this trip.
Take off from your home airport and arrive in Porto the next morning. You will sleep on the plane. Nonstop flights will be booked when possible. Pricing is based on main cabin economy seating from Dulles Airport in Washington, DC. Price may vary based on airport origin.
Check-in to hotel, settle in, and enjoy free time the rest of the afternoon. Visit the Sao Bento train station, the Livraria Lello - an historic bookstore, or take a ride up the funicular. Meet up for dinner with the group (meal included, alcohol is not included).
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then explore Porto. Walk over the Don Luis I bridge to Vila Nova de Gaia to visit the various wine cellars and tasting rooms. Take a river cruise and visit to Duoro Valley for wine tastings at two different vineyards. Lunch and dinner on your own.
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Wine tasting scheduled in Gaia. Explore more of Porto - shopping, galleries, and historic sites. Take a boat tour down the Duoro River (additional fee). Visit a wine cellar you may have missed. Dinner meet up with the group optional. Dinner cost is included (alcohol not included).
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Load bags for the for travel to Lisbon and head to the train station. Arrive in Lisbon at the 4/5-star hotel for check-in. Unpack, venture out or relax. Explore Lisbon at your own pace. Welcome dinner with the group (cost included- no alcohol included.
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Dinner on your own. Another free day to explore Lisbon. There is lots to discover and do. Take in a Fado performance, visit the Castelo de Sao Jorge, the National Pantheon or another museum or two.
Breakfast at the hotel. The group will head to Sintra via the train to see the castles of yesteryear. This will be a day trip returning late afternoon/early evening via the train. You can return when you like. Dinner and lunch on your own.
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Another free day to explore Lisbon. Visit the Belem Tower, see the view from atop Monte explore the neighborhoods of Principe Real, Chiado, Barrio Alto, Almafa and more. Last day to use your Lisbon card. Dinner on your own.
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. It's time for the SuncéBeat Festival! Head to the beach starting at 2pm. Tickets for the festival are not included and much be purchased separately. Food is available at the Festival. The ocean water is cold, but you may want to wear your swimsuit for the beach. Lunch and dinner on your own.
Head to the dock to meet the group for 3-hour sunset boat tour. Dinner will be after - Dinner cost not included. Enjoy the after party at the Magic Yard until 6am if you like (it's included in your ticket). Don't want to stay for the after party? Shuttles will begin to return to the hotel at 9pm until midnight.
Enjoy sleeping in or breakfast at the hotel. Free day to do what you like. Hang at the hotel, go shopping, see more historic sites, explore a neighborhood, visit a museum. It's your day on your time. Meet with the group for our final dinner and to say goodbyes. (Dinner included, alcohol not included.)
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Pack your bags and take the hotel shuttle to the airport. Take flight back to your home base.
