Florence, Rome & the Amalfi Coast
Sample Itinerary

Time for some Italian wine in Tuscany, see the Duomo and the David in Florence, witness the ruins roam the streets of Rome, and experience the beauty of the Amalfi Coast. Take a look at the itinerary below. Fly into Florence and return flight from Naples (airfare not included in the price for the land package, but it can be added). Trip includes 4-star/5-star hotel accommodations, airport transfers, trains, and attractions including tickets to the Colosseum, the Vatican, Academia Gallery to see Michelangelo's David, Pompeii, the ferry to Capri, Positano, and more!

The sample itinerary can be left as is or can be customized to fit your the trip you have in mind. The best time to visit Italy is April-November. This sample trip starts at $3960 per person for double occupancy. Trip insurance is not included, but it is recommended.

Arrive in Italy

Take off from your home airport in the evening and arrive in Italy the next morning. A private vehicle (van or coach) will pick you up and take you to the hotel. Check-in. Explore the city on your own. Wind through piazzas, grab a taste of gelato, enjoy an aperitivo, stroll pass the Duomo, and walk across the Ponte Vecchio. Dinner on your own.

Day One

The David Statue

Start your day with a guided walking tour of Florence, exploring the renowned Duomo Complex, and admire its blend of art and architecture. Learn about the city’s influential residents, from the Medici family to Dante Alighieri. Visit the Galleria dell’Accademia, home to Michelangelo’s awe-inspiring David. Have lunch and dinner on your own.

Day Two

Chianti Wine Tours

Meet your tour escort and journey into the heart of Chianti. Begin at a historic castle winery in the Florentine Chianti Classico area. Enjoy a guided tour of the ancient cellars and gardens, followed by a tasting of four wines, organic extra virgin olive oil, and local specialties. Next, visit the medieval village of Greve. Then, visit a family-run winery and tour the cellars. Enjoy a tasting. End the day in Castellina.

Day Three
Pouring Red Wine
Last Day in Florence

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. This last day in Florence, visit the Pitti Palace and the Boboli Gardens, the Bargello National Museum, and the Mercato Centrale. Stop by the leather vendors to purchase a leather purse, belt, coat, bag or other item. Possibly take a cooking class. Dinner on your own.

Day Four

The Colosseum & More

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then catch the morning train to Rome. Check-in at your hotel. Meet your tour guide for tour of the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, Victor Emmanuel's Palace and the Spanish Steps. Roam over to Piazzo Navona and explore the streets of Rome. Dinner on your own. 

Day Five
Ruined Ancient Architecture
The Vatican & the Basilica

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then take a tour of The Vatican and its wonderful museum exhibits of religious relics and beautifully decorated interior. See the Sistine Chapel with Micheangelo's masterpiece. Next, head to the Piazza San Pietro to visit St. Peter's Basilica. Dinner on your own. 

Day Six

Tasting of Exquisite Wine

After breakfast, leave Rome and head just outside to the Alban hills adorned with an array of vineyards. The mineral-rich volcanic soil makes for well-grown grapes and exquisite wines. Located on Lake Albano, the resort town of Castel Gandolfo is considered one of the most scenic in Italy. Lunch is included at a local winery with wine tasting.

Day Seven

Sorrento is Calling

Check-out of the hotel and meet for the train. Take the train to Sorrento. Check-in at your hotel. Take the train to Pompeii and grab lunch then head inside the ruins for a tour. Return to Sorrento via train and explore with dinner on your own.  

Day Eight

Ahhh Capri!

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then catch the morning ferry to the island of Capri. Ride the chairlift to the top of the island to see the incredible view, shop, eat and return on the last ferry to Sorrento. Dinner on your own.

Day Nine

Full Day Tour of the Amalfi

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Meet your private driver for a full day tour of the Amalfi Coast. Explore the towns of Ravello and Positano. Lunch in Positano. Head to Amalfi or Praiano, and then back to the hotel. Evening free. Dinner on your own. 

Day Ten

Free Day in Sorrento

Explore Sorrento for the day. Have breakfast and then go shopping, take a tour bus around town, stop by the beach to catch a few rays, enjoy a leisurely lunch, take a boat ride, see some art work to name a few things to do. Dinner on your own.  

Day Eleven

Arrivederci, Italia!

It's time to go home. Enjoy breakfast then check out of the hotel and meet the private car to take you to the airport. Individuals will check-in and board their specific booked flights.
